Benefit Fund Raiser

Tyler

Tyler: RSD since 2007

In the few years USARSD.org has been in exsistence, we've concentrated on the website itself as opposed to raising funds for the site or any RSD related causes. Well for some time we've been doing the behind the sceens work to get to where we can start raising money for both the organization in general and, when we can (see a need? When needed?) for causes we believe in.

We think we found the perfect cause to innagurate this new aspect of our organization (mine you we're not about to become all about the money. We are not gearing up to charge people or always asking for money....this is a worthy cause and it will not be a regular thing.) We've gone over the rules our state imposes on fundraising and for a short period of time we are going to be actively asking for people to help.

Most everyone reading this is probably an adult, at the very least in your mid-teens, and either you have RSD or know someone who has RSD. Now how many have heard of a child getting RSD? Well here's a quote from Kelly, the mom of the young boy we hope to help... On October 9, 2007, at the age of 7, my son Tyler sustained a crush injury to his left foot. This inury lead to the onset of CRPS/RSD.

We all know RSD doesn't just affect the one afflicted with it, but everyone around them are affected, another quote... My husband and I have suffered immensely since Tyler’s accident. Family members have given all that they are able, and my husbands 401 K has been depleted to cover rising medical cost etc.

So RSD at age 7....hard to imagine. This family has depleted most every option they can think of and have come to one last hope. The last hope is a Ketamine Infusion treatment for young Tyler. While there is a great clinic that does this treatment, Dr. Kirkpatric's clinic in Tampa, FL, the treatment is very costly. Do to it being relatively new and very uncommon insurance does not cover the treatment. Unfortantley the treatment has to be paid out of pocket.

Now I know that money has been tight for a great number of people. I know that you have bills to pay yourself. Still I can't help but ask if you'd consider donating even a small amount to help pay for this treatment for young tyler...it's essentially the only hope for Tyler to get any relief.

We can only have an open fundraiser to help Tyler for 6 weeks. We will show that all the funds raised get turned over to the Davis family and Kelly, Tyler's mom, has told us she will provide recipts for to show the money went towards getting tyler to Tampa (they live in MD) and that the money gets spent on the medical bills related to the treatment...They will also provide proof, if need be, of the diagnosis for young Tyler.

If you donate online, via our paypal button, please make a note to us that the money is for the Davis Family (so that the money will go to them as opposed as to our normal opperating costs), If you donate via check please make a note int he memo it's for the Davis Family. We will provide electronic recipts signed by our treasurer, that's me by the way. IF you would rather or need a hard copy recipt we will mail you one, but please ask us directly or we will assume an e-recipt is fine for you.

One last quote from Kelly: I am not the type to ask for any handouts, but have come to the realization that I can not make this happen alone.

Thanks for reading this and again, please consider trying to help....and as always, feel free to forward this email and ask any questions you may have to us.
